GENERAL INFORMATION
Duel Masters Finland ry is organizing Duel Masters Mega Meet for 3-5 days in Finland, Tampere area and is collaborating with Duel Masters Reborn for internationality. The event will last for 3-5 days and will be held for 30-50 people. Rides to the event will be organized if needed. The entry fee should be somewhere around 30-50 € for the whole event excluding optional tournament fees and other expenses. International quests are more than welcome!
DMF has a good track-record on organizing cottage tournament events for mostly local people with 8-14 participants 4 times a year. We are helding a most likely optional main TCG tournament with 5-10 € entry fee. This fee will be used for a prize pool, which will allow us to reward top 3-4 players and the most creative deck with boosters and other card-related prizes. There will be a smaller OCG tournament that will follow the official cards restrictions and rules stated by Takara Tomy. Also, we are most likely organizing a limitless TCG tournament and tournaments with various formats, like commander, pauper, highlander etc. More on that at a later date.
TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE
We are cutting the top 4 after Swiss Rounds, so the Swiss round amount in respect to player amount is as follows:
1-7 players: Round-robin pairing
8 players: 4 rounds
9-16 players: 5 rounds
17-32 players: 6 rounds
33-64 players: 7 rounds
The 1st and the 4th placed face each other and the 2nd and the 3rd placed face each other. Winners of semifinals proceed to a final game and losers proceed to a bronze game.
A match consists of a series of games that are played until one side has won 2 games. Drawn games do not count toward this goal. A match may contain more than 1 drawn game, but each player gets a total of one game point for drawn games in a match.
Scoring per game in a match
a win - 3 points
a tie - 1 point (maximum 1 point per match)
a loss - 0 points
a bye - 3 points
PRIZES
Traditionally, DMF has rewarded top 3-4 players and the most creative deck with boosters and other card-related prizes. The prize pool distribution has been approximately as follows:
1st - 35 %
2nd - 20 %
3rd - 10 %
4th - 5 %
Most Creative - 10 %
Participation prizes (in total) - 20 %
We will use somewhat similar distribution. The prizes will most likely include boosters like DM-01, DM-02, DM-04 DM-06, DM-07, DM-09, DM-10, DM-12. Boosters will either be in English, Italian, French, Japanese or German.
