    NEO Format Banner10

    Hi duelists!
Maybe you had notice that the newest DM's set (DMRP-01 Here Come the Jokers!!) has been recently added to TCO playing platform. I would like to share my thoughts about creating a brand new unofficial Duel Masters TCG playing format named the "NEO Format". This is my initiative for all the players who want to start their adventure with this TCG once more. The main reason of creating this format is to get even more fun playing DM. It is solution for players who would like to play a light, ballanced, concise and easy duels with 100% fun and good vibe guaranteed.

Now, some information about the concept.
The main idea is pretty simple - to build decks we use the cards with newest layout only. The format starts from DMRP-01 and it goes upwards with new sets in near future, so it would be expanding regularly. The new DMSDs and promotional cards are also inclued. In other words we use the cards with newest design.
It can be said that this format is inspired by Magic: The Gathering's Modern Format a litte bit.

Let me quote well-known DM wikia's contributor, Yami Michael's and our admin, ELTP's words:
"Its definitely a new beginning. Which is funny considering the arrival of this forum." - Yami Michael
"Our timing with this forum is very fitting considering everything that's currently happening. Very nice!" - ELTP

I know that probably most of the current OCG players will be using the newsets cards to previously printed beacuse it's usuall extension when the new set comes out and it's fine because it's normal. The new japanese metagame should be developed soon like always. However this format is dedicated to all of those players who want to try some new fresh games.

I'm very grateful that I can be the part of this global community of players who really enjoy this trading card game. I hope that there will be some volunteers to play games in this format and develop it in the near future. The creators of the NEO Format are You and the essential of it is our common passion.
    Let's do this together!

I would love to hear your thoughts about that idea.

    Our fellow, ohdeer.

Actually it would be bad for dm since many strategies require old cards to work. And there's always the block format in case of things like this.

Thanks for your opinion Ex. I think you got a point here but probably lot of old cards will return in new additions soon. Remember that's for fun playing format and of course block format will be good to duel for fun, but I wanted to create some brand new, some fresh format, which is free from Rev, RevF etc. cards and all those previously printed extremelly unballanced cards. The good reason to play in this format would be well-balanced play which is not so common in current japanese metagame. I would like the NEO Format be more global rather than extremelly overpovered japanese metagame, which of course will be developing all the time. I would prefer fun playing more than tournament meta play at the moment despite the facts I'm former OCG's advanced player.

Thanks for positive opinion Secret_Wyvern. To be honest the working title of this format was "Joker" but I decided to do go simple and just named it "Neo" (using that word is pretty obvious heh, new minimalistic layout that's it).

Basically in this state, it's the equivalent of a block metagame.

It would like to check it out, if have the cards of course.
Building decks around those 'NEO' cards will be easiy at first due to the small selection of cards with only one set yet. But i actually like it this way...

I also think this is a great idea! I will recommend this to my group as well. It's an interesting entry point to OCG and should allow many players a pleasant way of ultimately transferring to regular OCG format, in addition to TCG.

We could organize a NEO tournament on TCO. Should be fun! I would definitely be in.

@OcaVan, @ELTP, thank you for the good opions about that concept mates. We can start playing it just now, it's for-fun format, is't it? Playing "Neo-tournaments" in near future will be cool too and definitely fun!

Including NEO in front of your decks' name would make it easier for NEO format players to identify each each other. Something like: "NEO: Going For It".

Agreed, tags in modern social media are very helpful in finding content that we are looking for, so it very good idea with tagging deck in this format. But first "NEO" needs to be playable format and in my opinion it's very consistent and fun, so I hope it's a matter of time.
