Hate the stale state(no offence to TCG players, I actually really like TCG, but alot of the decks are the same or just bad) of TCG? Tired of the current meta of the OCG? Want to try something a bit different? Well here's a format for you!
For those who don't know Tribal Wars is a constructed casual format in which one-third of every deck must be of a single creature type.
And Commander is a singleton format where you select a legendary creature as your commander and you deck can only contain cards with colors matching colors on the commander
So these are the deck building rules of the format
-You must have selected one Creature(any type of main deck creature except forbidden creatures) and select it as your Monarch
-You can not have any copies of your monarch in your deck
-Your main deck must be at least 40 cards, and there is no limit for how many cards you can have in your deck, but all cards in your deck must have the same civilizations as your Monarch. For example if you have a Fire monarch you cant have a fire/nature card in your deck since your monarch isn't nature
-At least 50% of your creatures must fall under the same creature race as a race of your monarch. However similar races (humans+human bakus, all the dragons) count as the same race for this
-Hyperspatial Zone creatures do not fall under this restriction if at least one side matches (example: one side fire/other side water)
-We have no hall of fame except for Bombazar who is at 0 and Jolly the Johnny Joe who's at 1 for now. We will see what cards are too powerful for the format and act quickly banning/resticting too powerful cards
-HOWEVER all Revchange/invasion cards are disabled
Now the actual rule changes!
-Your monarch sits off to the side, you may play them any time you could as if they were in your hand. When ever they would leave the battle zone they go back to their monarch slot, but they're counted as going to the specified zone (if a card says they go to the graveyard and have an effect that activates when a card goes to the grave that effect activates)
-Every time your monarch is removed from the battle zone but a counter on it. For every counter it costs 2 more. Counters count as seals for card removal effects
-If you have a Colorless Monarch you can use both Zero and Joker, but Joker effects that require jokers will not activate from Zero cards, you need actual Joker cards
-Standard DM rules apply otherwise
And that's Monarch format! I'm expecting maybe a few people to be interesting but most to just call me stupid, well bring it on!
And it's name is, Monarch Format
This format is based on a combination of Magic the gathering's Tribal Wars format and the Commander formatFor those who don't know Tribal Wars is a constructed casual format in which one-third of every deck must be of a single creature type.
