When posting a rule question it would be very helpful if you could offer us some background info like explaining the situation as well as offering at least links to the cards you are talking about, if any.

On Duel Masters Reborn, we have many users who have lots of experience in dueling and who will gladly help you by answering your questions, me included. Feel free to post your questions and possibly even answering others. Try to give arguments and proper sources for your answers, though.

No. Shuffle is always the first thing you do. Not sure why you would even want to, unless you were trying to cheat your shield triggers somehow.
