Solar Ray vs Holy Awe Empty Solar Ray vs Holy Awe

Post by Spaulding on 15.01.20 11:57

Hey guys,

what do you think of Solar Ray vs Holy Awe in a L/F Rush Deck? Normally you have 4 spots for the cards in your deck.

You will never be able to cast Holy Awe and it will always land in your Mana Zone if you draw it but it's devastating when your opponent hits it. It usually wins you the game outright.

With Solar Ray you can cast it to tap a blocker so that you can attack through but you already have better cards which do that (Comet Missile, Volcanic Arrows, Rikabu's Screwdriver and/ or Larba Geer). So you will often put it in your Mana Zone in favor of the mentioned cards anyway.

So what do you guys think. Would you run 4x Awe, 4x Ray or even a split between them?

Cheers

In my opinion Holy Awe is much more better just because of the chance to win a already lost game. The mind-game is also incredible strong.

Solar Ray is weaker to Cosmic Missile and other Tools to rush your opponent.
And you have enough of them.

My answer -> 4x Awe 0x Ray

lol!

Depends on your build tho. Halfar is right abouit that Awe can influence your opponents activities if is seeing it already in your mana zone.
You could try 2x Awes/ 2X Solar Rays or 3x Awes and 1x Solar Ray and see how it goes. It's still a wasted slot if you consider using it activly.
With a rush deck, surving until turn 6 and longer is a hard task.

I would really like to see your decklist.

My F/L Rush Deck (40) looks like this:

Fire (21)
4x DFBC
4x Comet
2x Screwdriver
1x Kooc Pollon
2x Arrows
4x Dismantler
4x Magnus

Light (19)
4x La Ura Giga
4x Tulk
4x Sol Galla
4x Larba Geer
3x Awe

In this version I play with 3x Awe and 1x Kooc Pollon instead of 4x Awe.
Also I use a 2 /2 split in the Blocker Removal Slot because I can protect Screwdriver with 1 of the 8 Blockers to keep using its effect.

I can recommend to test Kolon, the Oracle.
I rather play him in Rush/Aggro than Solar Ray, because he's a Body.

In the end, i would say there isn't a best card.

It's only personal preference.
