I'm looking to find out more about this contest from back in 2005. From what I understand, there were 10-20 or so winners and the first place winner had his card made. (Neve, the Leveler). All the winners received the card art of their creation encased in a frame. There are rumors of other cards being made, but so far no one has been able to confirm that.

I am curious about the artwork of the other winner creations. It would be interesting to see what the other potential cards were. Are there pictures anywhere of the artwork from the other winners? I wonder how much the artwork might be worth.

Very Interesting. I think that second link is for another contest, but the first link confirms that there was only one winner.

Coincidentally, I happen to be one of the secondary winners for the Create-A-Card contest. I won a DM-08 booster box (Epic Dragons of Hyperchaos) and the framed artwork of my creature. I can post a artwork for you all to see later today. It was of an armored dragon and I think it would have made a great card.

CAW was a week of events concerning creatures. Create a creature was one of these. It's mentioned in the 2nd link's press releases.

I think it would have made a cool looking card. I wonder what the artwork might be worth. Although I'd be hard pressed to part with it.

We just provided a description and the winning submissions were drawn by their artists.

Can you remember at least approximately what specs did you give for your dream card?

Honestly, I don't really remember but I do know that the card description was bloated. High power and had a mechanic where you can destroy two of your creatures in the battle zone to send one of your opponents creatures in the mana zone. Well, something similar to that anyway

Does anyone know who designed Neve? It's not really that playable at all but still has a cool design

Wiki says that Neve's illustrator is Taro Yamazaki. Artist of many DM cards but can it be? I bet Taro Yamazaki have finished some fan creation.

He must just be a mere illustrator of the winner's card design.

This Reddit post (link below) may be from the winner of that contest. Sadly, the picture he posted is no longer available.

The comments make it clear that it is related to the 2005 Create-A-Card Contest in the least. The link to the tradecardsonline page went to a card with the collection number "74-Y3", and I believe that was what Neve's collection number was on that page until it was corrected. The picture on the DM Wikia was rather low resolution until I added mine, so it isn't unthinkable that someone read it as "74" instead of "P4". Therefore I believe the card in the post was Neve.

Yeah that's what I assumed as well when I saw the post. It's a shame the picture of the frame from the comments of that post got deleted as well :/
